Resources for Students

The Office of Child Welfare & Attendance in the Student Services unit partners with local agencies such as the Probation Department, Constitutional Rights Foundation, Juvenile Courts, District Attorney's Office, Social Services, Police Departments, retired administrators, and the Mental Health Department.   These community partners collaborate with the school districts county-wide in preventing, handling and solving child welfare and attendance issues.

The Child Welfare & Attendance Office handles:  Peer Court, School Attendance Review Board (SARB), Hate Crimes, Truancy, Parent Rights, Foreign Exchange Students, Work Permits, Adult Education, Explulsion Hearings and Interdistrict Transfer Appeals.

We also head-up the annual OC Career Forum in March of each year.

* The Orange County Department of Education also has support for Homeless and Foster Youth.
