Requirements for the CLEAR Education Specialist District Intern Program (Mild/Moderate or Moderate/Severe Disabilities, three-year program):
Baccalaureate degree from a regionally-accredited college or university with a 2.75 G.P.A.
Passage of CBEST.
Passage of the California Subject Examination for Teachers (CSET Multiple Subject) or Multiple Subjects Assessment for Teachers (MSAT) or university-issued subject matter waiver. If the candidate holds a general education credential and wants to obtain an Education Specialist credential, please contact the program coordinator.
Fulltime employment with a participating Orange County public school district in a teaching assignment which matches the credential being pursued.
Application for a District Intern Credential valid for the duration of the program.
Character and identification clearance.
Recommendation by school district human resource administrator and principal or 3 letters of reference.
U.S. Constitution completion at university level or CTC-approved test.
Pre-Service met prior to program start.
