Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) Prevention Program

​​​​​​​​The OCDE Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) Team provides presentations to our educational communities with the goal of encouraging healthy life choices.

Student Prevention Curriculum: This multi-session program is focused on strengthening each student’s interpersonal and social skills as well as providing them with substance abuse education and resistance skills. We use the following evidence-based curricula:

A comprehensive, dynamic, and developmentally designed curriculum to promote positive
youth development. In addition to helping kids resist drug, alcohol, and tobacco use, the curriculum also effectively supports and promotes healthy and positive personal development.

Project ALERT - Grades 6-8
Designed to motivate students against drug use, this curriculum provides skills and strategies to resist drugs and establish new non-use attitudes and beliefs.

Parent Workshops: This one-hour workshop is designed to provide an overview of current drug trends, risk, and protective factors, as well as equip parents with the knowledge, skills, and strategies to identify and prevent youth drug use. Available in English or Spanish with flexible scheduling.

School Staff Workshops: This one-hour workshop discusses current drug trends, risk, and protective factors, as well as equips school school staff with the knowledge and skills to encourage positive and healthy choices.

Community Presentations: The AOD team is also available to present within the greater context of our community such as non-profits and other organizations.
