Start the New Year off right with a small commitment to make the world a greener place. Here are some eco-friendly New Year’s resolutions.
Decrease the amount of trash in our landfills by recycling. Most city recycling programs take Plastics 1 – 7.
Buy more organic products. This will benefit your health and the environment.
Use a reusable cup for your trip to the coffee shop.
Buy produce from a local farmers market. This will decrease the amount of fuel used in shipping the produce.
Have a zero waste lunch. Instead of Ziploc bags and other disposable items, use reusable items so you won’t throw anything away at the end of the meal.
Decrease your phantom load by unplugging appliances that are not in use. Many electronics, even when turned off, are still using energy.
Go paperless! Most companies now have the option to have bills emailed instead of mailed. There are many secure websites to pay your bills.
To help make your resolution successful, start with something small. Every green goal will help make the world a better place.
