Stipend for Professional Growth and Education (AB 212)

The Orange County AB 212 stipend project is administered by the Orange County Superintendent of Schools on behalf of the Orange County Child Care and Development Planning Council.  It provides financial incentives to qualified employees of California Department of Education (CDE), subsidized child care centers in Orange County.  The purpose of these financial incentives is to increase the education of teachers, involve them with professional growth activities and increase staff retention.

  • Be a staff member at a state subsidized child care center
  • Be employed at the same subsidized child care center for at least one year
  • Have, or have applied for a Child Development Permit and meet additional educational and professional growth requirements of AB 212
  • Make below $45,000 at your state-subsidized child care center as verified by W-2 form
  • Take courses at an accredited institution in early care and education or general education
  • Participate in workshops or training to increase knowledge of best practices for children in child care programs
