Inside the Outdoors experiential programs serve over 120,000 Southern California students annually, making a child’s connection to the natural world real by bringing to life the science and social science concepts. All Inside the Outdoors programs support Common Core, Next Generation Science Standards, and the History and Social Science standards.
Every year, Inside the Outdoors Foundation raises funds to insure that all of the students in our local communities have the opportunity to experience hands-on learning in nature’s classroom through an Inside the Outdoors program.
Inside the Outdoors was established in 1974 to empower students, teachers, parents, and the community to explore the natural world, while expanding their knowledge and understanding of science and the wonders of nature.
Inside the Outdoors, administered by the Orange County Department of Education, is self-supporting. The Inside the Outdoors Foundation is a tax-exempt organization dedicated to supporting the Inside the Outdoors mission by raising funds, as well as building community awareness and involvement for Inside the Outdoors.
