for Summer Day Camp 2024!
Inside the Outdoors, administered by the Orange County Department of Education, is excited to return with our popular Summer Day Camp at Shipley Nature Center in lovely Huntington Beach, California.
Camp Hours: 9:00 am* to 2:00 pm**
*Drop off starts at 8:30 am for all weeks.
**Extended Camp available from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm for an additional fee of $80.
Experience unique activities that incorporate science, fun, learning, and being outdoors. Summer Day Camp is geared toward campers age 6 to 12 years old, with leadership and camp opportunities for campers age 13-17. Each week of summer camp will have themed daily activities that are science/nature based that also include a daily nature journal prompt and a take-home craft.

Call of the Wild
| Campers will navigate the "rugged" wilderness
of Shipley Nature Center as they explore the trails, spy for animals, and
engage in hands-on natural science in this fun-filled week that will sure be
wild! Each day will be a new adventure as we sing songs, make crafts and play
games to tap into the camper's natural curiosity. Does your camper have what it
takes to hear the call of the wild?

Camp California
| Native plants, native animals and native
campers! This week we head back to our roots, keeping it coastal and local!
Through games, songs, science, and adventures, outdoor explorers will learn how
to be California cool and become the ultimate camper.

Fantastic Campers and Where to Find Them
| Campers keep their summer going with fun filled days
of crafts, games, science, and the great outdoors. From amazing animals to
wacky water games, and everything in between, this week of adventures will be
one to remember, building forts and friendships that will last all summer.
Along with tie dye, skits and songs, the fun goes on and on!

Camp Critter
| Creatures, crafts, science, and fun! This week of
summer camp will be sure to thrill your curious camper as we explore the trails of
Shipley Nature Center, keeping an eye out for any critters we may encounter
along the way. Each day, we will play, laugh and sing silly camp songs as we
learn about the importance of local ecology and how to look for animal evidence
out in the wild!

9:30am - 11:30 am - Camp activities in small groups.
11:30 am - Lunch (bring your own lunch each day) and Garbology
12:00 pm - Afternoon games and choose-your-own-adventure activities with camp staff.
