Amazing Animals - Sensory Superpowers - 4th Grade

NGSS PE Supported: 4-LS1-1

In this fun and interactive Traveling Scientist program, fourth-grade students will discover how animals’ unique physical traits give them “superpowers” that help them survive in the wild! As they meet animal ambassadors, students will learn how structures like a tortoise’s strong shell or a rabbit’s big ears are specially designed for survival. Using the lens of Structure & Function, students will explore how each adaptation helps animals thrive. In between animal encounters, students will get creative, designing their own animal superheroes by combining the best features of the animals they’ve met!

Drip Drop - California's Growing Water Needs- 4th Grade

HSS Supported 4.4.4 and 4.4.7

Take a journey back in time to explore California's water history and the three major aqueducts that bring us our water! Students take part in short skits and analyzing graphs to investigate the
history of how Southern California's water needs have changed
over time due to a growing population. Evidence will then be
used to help brain storm ways that they can conserve water,
reducing the need for future aqueducts. This engaging program
highlights the importance of water conservation for the future of Southern California!

Renewable Energy Education - 4th Grade (by invitation only)

NGSS PE Supported: 4-PS3-4

The City of Anaheim is dedicated to increasing the use of renewable energy sources.  Students will dive into the world of renewable energy, exploring how clean sources like solar and wind power are helping fight climate change. Through hands-on activities such as generating electricity with hand crank generators and building solar circuits, students will experience firsthand how energy conversion works. They’ll learn how renewable energy reduces greenhouse gas emissions and understand the challenges of energy storage and production. This program connects science and engineering to real-world environmental issues, empowering students to support clean energy initiatives in their communities and beyond!
