Nutrition and School Wellness

Local School Wellness Policy: Schools that receive USDA school meal reimbursements are required to have a Wellness Policy that is reviewed and updated every three years. OCDE can provide guidance for what is needed to update the Wellness Policy as well as technical assistance for developing a strong and functional Wellness Committee to implement policy. Harvest of the Month Nutrition Education Program​: The Harvest of the Month Nutrition Education Program includes standards-aligned, skill-based nutrition lessons that highlight a fresh, seasonal, California-grown fruit or vegetable for your students to sample each month!
