Peer Influencer Workshops

​​​​​​​​​​Peer Influencer Workshops will provide foundational knowledge, build self-help skills, and encourage youth-led action to raise awareness about mental health. 

Mental Health 101 for Student Advocates                      ​   

Young people can play an important role in reducing stigma​​ related to mental illness, increasing awareness about suicide prevention, and promoting access to mental health services. This workshop will provide students with foundational knowledge of mental health concepts that will support them to become advocates for themselves and others. This workshop is available to Orange County public, private and charter schools at no cost.

Intended Audience: Middle and high school students 

Duration: 45-60 minutes

​Screens and Teens 

As concerns grow around the effects social media can have on mental health, it is important that youth have the opportunity to learn about the full scope of the issues at hand, as well as the actions they can take to promote a healthy relationship with screens. Through discussions and interactive activities, youth will learn about the positive and negative influence social media can have on their mental health, as well as strategies for balance and resources for support. ​This workshop is available to Orange County public, private and charter schools at no cost.

Intended Audience: Middle and high school student​s 

Duration: 50 minutes  ​

Understanding and Managing Emot​​ions Workshop

​We all experience the ups and downs of emotions in our daily lives.  Teaching students how to manage their emotions can help them cope with the challenging feelings, such as anger, sadness, frustration, and anxiety.  The goals of this workshop are to help students build skills in recognizing and responding to emotions in a safe and healthy manner and to provide them with strategies for seeking support when needed. This workshop​ is available to Orange County public, private and charter schools at no cost.   

Intended Audience: Elementary School Students in Grades 4-6

Duration: 50 minutes ​
