OCDE’s Communications and Media Services team highlights, promotes and supports the work of the Orange County Department of Education and Orange County schools with video production, copywriting, media relations, graphic design, web design and event planning and support. The staff also produces content for an education news blog called the OCDE Newsroom.

OCDE Newsroom provides news and information about OCDE and Orange County schools. This site, updated regularly at newsroom.ocde.us, serves an audience that includes educators, parents, students, district staff and community members. Questions and story suggestions may be submitted to

The 101
The 101 unpacks complex topics and explains who has oversight in posts that can be read quickly and shared with family, friends and neighbors. Stories on this website include links to primary sources, including state and county agencies, for those who wish to take a deeper dive. Media Services
The Media Services unit offers full-service, in-house video production to create promotional content, staff development videos, public service announcements, informational/educational videos and more. In addition, Media Services staff provide conference support, digital photography and expertise with the latest audio-visual equipment.
