ACCESS and Connections

In addition to supporting the 28 school districts of Orange County with essential services, the Orange County Department of Education provides direct instruction to the county’s most vulnerable student populations through its ACCESS and Connections programs.

ACCESS — the acronym stands for Alternative, Community and Correctional Education Schools and Services — offers a broad spectrum of educational opportunities to thousands of secondary students each year, including those facing unique challenges or academic risks. The program is designed to empower students through tailored support, helping them overcome barriers to success.

Connections delivers specialized educational services to students with extensive support needs across 13 school sites in Orange County. Referred by the county's 28 districts and neighboring areas, students in the Connections program benefit from a low student-to-staff ratio and highly structured classroom settings, with individualized instruction that addresses each learner’s unique needs.
