September 19, 2024 - 4:00-5:00 p.m.

Orange County Spelling Bee Coordinators Meeting (for individual schools or district spelling bee coordinators).​ Register here. 

October 31, 2024​

Regular enrollment deadline for schools to enroll with the Scripps National Spelling Bee​. Enrollment fee is $185 per school. (Each school must register with Scripps in order to participate in the Orange County Spelling Bee). Cost increases to $199 if enrolling after October 31, 2024. ​​​

December 3, 2024

Deadline to submit Orange County Spelling Bee Intent to ​Participate​​ form to the Orange County Department of Education.

January 28, 2025

Deadline to host district or school spelling bee.

February 4, 2025

Deadline to register your school/district champions with the Orange County Department of Education and to submit Orange County Spelling Bee Student Enrollment Forms and Fees. ​

February 24, 2025​

Orange County Spelling Bee - Written Round

February 25, 2025

Finalists advancing to final round will be announced on the Spelling Bee website by 3:00 p.m.

March 1​, 2025

Orange County Spelling Bee - Final Round, Finalists

The winner of the Orange County Spelling Bee will represent our county at the Scripps National Spelling Bee scheduled to take place May 26-30, 2025. The travel for the student and their chaperone will be sponsored by the Orange County Register.​
