​PREQUALIFICATION NOTICE

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN by the Orange County Superintendent of Schools, County of Orange, California, (“Superintendent”) is seeking qualifications from experienced mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (“MEP”) subcontractors for Lease-Leaseback (LLB) construction services for Superintendent’s Rancho Sonado (“Project”) located at 8755 Santiago Canyon Road, Silverado, California 92676. Superintendent is accepting prequalification application packages from mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) subcontractors only for its Rancho Sonado Project. All MEP subcontractors submitting a bid must be prequalified with the Superintendent pursuant to Education Code section 17406 (a)(2)(C) and Public Contract Code section 20111.6, subsections (b) - (m) without exception prior to submitting a bid. Any MEP subcontractor submitting a bid and is not prequalified will be deemed non-responsive and that MEP subcontractor’s bid will be rejected and returned to the MEP subcontractor unopened. 

Superintendent must receive completed applications from MEP subcontractors at least ten (10) business days prior to the date fixed for the public opening of sealed bids for that increment. MEP subcontractors will be notified in writing of their prequalification status at least five (5) business days before said bid opening. Prequalification approval will remain valid for one (1) year from the date of notice of qualification except as noted in the prequalification documents.

NOTE: Pursuant to SB854 (effective July 1, 2014), Contractors must register annually with the Department of Industrial Relations (“DIR”) prior to bidding on public works projects.
