​Founded by the Orange County Department of Education, the Orange County Music and Arts Administrators (OCMAA) is a FREE coalition of district and school art leaders and community art organizations which:

• Supports informed leadership through collaborative discussions and annual curricular targets from the CA Arts Framework & Arts Standards

• Develops community partnerships through meetings between districts and arts organizations

• Celebrates those who provide arts opportunities for students

• Encourages student creativity as well as college and career readiness and success through an annual events open to public, private, charter and homeschool art programs

For over 30 years, the Orange County Music and Arts Administrators (OCMAA), in partnership with the Segerstrom Center for the Arts, have presented the Orange County Music and Arts Educators Awards. This annual event recognizes outstanding leadership and arts instruction for individual elementary and secondary educators in each of the four arts disciplines, as well as supportive administrators, community arts advocates, classroom teachers and the Arts in Special Education Award.

College and Career Pathways in the Arts

This event supports awareness of opportunities in the arts for students who may want to pursue a career as an arts educator working for a school district or as a teaching artist working for an arts organization. High school students, families and teachers are invited to a free event to meet with multiple institutions of higher education and possible future employers to hear about opportunities to continue their education and pursue a career in arts in Orange County.

Building Effective Arts Education Programs: A professional learning series, in this interactive we will explore Chapter 9: Implementing effective arts education of the California Arts Education Framework and how to leverage arts education funding including Prop 28. Chapter 9 of the Arts Ed Framework has many tangible resources as schools across the state expand VAPA positions and offerings. This session is offered by leaders of the California County Superintendents Arts Initiative.

Orange County Arts and Disability (OCA&D) provides arts, education, and cultural opportunities by, with, and for people with disabilities, making the arts accessible to people of all abilities. OCA&D is thrilled to offer the Orange County Arts and Special Education Network open to Special Education teachers involved in arts instruction, arts teachers who serve students with disabilities, and community arts organizations who serve artists with disabilities. The group meets quarterly and provides a space to learn about best practices related to the intersection of arts and special education. The network provides an opportunity for attendees to share and connect about their own work and projects with their students. The group also receives updates and information on how to participate in the annual Orange County Arts and Disability Festival held at MainPlace Mall in the spring.

​The annual Orange County Arts and Disability 
Festival is held each spring to culminate  year-round, school and community based arts program efforts, including hands-on workshops, demonstrations, performances, and a visual art exhibit, serving all ages and all disabilities. The opening ceremonies showcases outstanding performers and provides an overview of the day's activities. Individuals and organizations that have sponsored and supported the Orange County Arts and Disability programs are also acknowledged. All schools and organizations serving the disabled are invited to participate in addition to inclusive classes and programs. Each year, a theme is selected and artwork is chosen to as the poster for festival promotional materials. The goal of the festival is to provide an opportunity for artists with disabilities to be showcased, bring the Orange County arts and disability community together and provide education and awareness to the general public about disability.
