General Resources for Expanded Learning

A nonprofit organization dedicated to raising awareness of the importance of afterschool programs and advocating for quality, affordable programs for all children.

The Mission of the California Afterschool Network is to influence policy and coordinate local and statewide efforts that support out of school time opportunities for children and youth.

Works to support and advance professionals and organizations in providing quality and affordable out-of-school time programs through online and in-person trainings.

Launched in January 2016, the Expanding Student Success Campaign is a statewide initiative designed to ensure that K-12 educators and leaders are exposed to the impact that Expanded Learning opportunities have on students and school communities.

Is a collaborative project dedicated to promoting the development of critical skills beyond academics that research has identified as essential to young people's success in school, work, and life. 

The Learning in Afterschool & Summer Self-Assessment Survey can be used to reflect on how well your afterschool or summer program is aligned with the LIAS learning principles: learning that is ACTIVE, COLLABORATIVE, MEANINGFUL, SUPPORTS MASTERY, AND EXPANDS HORIZONS.

A company that helps youth service organizations measure and manage what matters. This site has online tools to help evaluate program data.

Summer Matters’ focus is on young people with the greatest need and fewest resources and we provide resources and support to summer learning programs.  

​Previously known as Teaching Tolerance, they have resources for the educator including but not limited to lesson plans, printable posters, strategies and professional development.
