Overview

The Williams Settlement Legislation enacted into law in 2004 seeks to ensure that all students have equal access to the basics of a quality education:

  • Textbooks and instructional materials

  • Safe and decent school facilities

  • Qualified teachers

  • Accurate reporting on the annual School Accountability Report Card (SARC)

  • A Uniform Complaint Procedure (UCP) for the reporting of alleged violations

Requirements of the legislation affect all schools in California.
