The P.I.E.S. program has many components. It is based on parent involvement and support in home, community, and/or center-based learning environment(s). Family needs are the driving force behind the program that is developed. The program provides the needed support to all family members through the use of the following components:
Home visits comprised of the teacher working with the family and child in the home.
Center-based training involving a classroom setting in order to learn together.
Assessment team and family meetings to develop an Individual Family Service Plan for education.
Family Support and Parent Education is provided through structured and informal connections for interacting with other parents of children with hearing impairments.
Educational materials including books, internet sources, and videos geared to parent interests are part of the Resource Library.
