The Orange County Department of Education (OCDE) Division of Special Education Services is a referral-based program serving students from the 28​ Orange County school districts and surrounding areas with in-person and remote learning opportunities. Referrals are made solely by a student's district of residence when a more intensive educational setting is needed. 

Students we serve:

  • Autism 
  • Intellectual Disability
  • Orthopedic Impairment
  • Multiple Handicapped
  • Emotional Disturbance
  • Visual Impairment
  • Deaf and Hard of Hearing​

We currently serve students on 13 different campuses throughout Orange County. Our Connections program is divided into 4 Administrative Units (AU). AU 1 is located in North Orange County, AU 2 is located in Central Orange County, and AU 3 is located in South Orange County. AU 4 is a regional program serving students that are Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) and is located in Irvine and Costa Mesa.
