Parent Infant Education Support (PIES) Brochure

The Connection at Knott: PIES Program is a regional program developed in cooperation with Orange County SELPAs to meet the needs of children with a hearing loss. The program serves students from birth to 36 months.  Our team provides quality developmental education, support and resources for families. Our program is personalized to meet the needs of infants, toddlers and their families.

We use a play-based approach to assess children to help determine their unique needs. We offer coaching to parents and caregivers in order to teach them how to develop their child’s listening and language skills in the home environment. Our program is supported by a credentialed Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing along with a Speech and Language Pathologist and Audiologist. We provide home visits, center-based learning, and parenting classes.

The philosophy of PIES is to provide early intervention that will help lead to greater language acquisition in the formative years of development.
