I am pleased that you have taken the time to visit the Orange County Department of Education (OCDE) Connections Regional Deaf & Hard of Hearing (DHH) webpage. OCDE Connections DHH program provides quality education for DHH students grades seven through Adult Transition. Students are referred by the 28 school districts in Orange County and districts from surrounding counties. Our program has been recognized as a model program nationwide. Our programs are located within the Irvine Unified School District on the Venado Middle School and the University High School campuses in Irvine. In addition, we operate an Adult Transition Program (ATP) on the campus of Orange Coast Community College in Costa Mesa.

Our program provides curriculum aligned with the California State Standards. Classrooms are designed for DHH students with opportunities for inclusion into general education classes. In addition, many of our students participate in extracurricular activities such as sports, student government and activities. Our ATP Program focuses on preparing students for independence and careers. We work closely with our local school districts to ensure students get a quality education that is individualized to their needs.

The Connections DHH Program is wonderful place for students from diverse backgrounds to grow physically, educationally, and socially. Our programs and expertise in working with DHH students is second to none.  We strive to create an environment where each and every student is given the support and tools necessary to achieve, thrive and succeed.

All of this is made possible by strong partnerships that are developed with our parents, local school districts and community agencies. Please do not hesitate to contact us at 949-936-7788.
