Touch2Learn

Teacher working with student to use mobile device
The Orange County Department of Education’s Special Classes continues to implement the Touch2Learn (T2L) program which uses mobile devices to enhance learning in its special education classes.

‬Among the uses of these devices, the T2L program is currently addressing the following core areas: Cognitive Development, Communication, and Social Emotional skills.

In addition, many of our occupational therapists, speech and language specialists, and school psychologists are promoting excellence in education by infusing these devices throughout the school day. This program began in 2007 and continues to expand meeting the needs of a multitude of students.

In 2011, Touch2Learn was recognized by Apple as one of their Exemplary Programs. The program has also been recognized in a variety of media outlets. In addition, OCDE continues to consult with various agencies and districts across the state in hopes of sharing resources.
