Early Learning Workforce Development Initiatives

​​​​​​​​​​Early Education Teacher Development (EETD) Grant

Applications will soon open for 2025-26 scholarships to advance your career as a California State Preschool Teacher or Transitional Kindergarten (TK) Teacher.​ 

Eligibility
​Individual seeking to attain:

  • 24 Child Development or Early Childhood Education Units (for TK teachers only)
  • Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) in Early Childhood Education or related field
  • Multiple Subject Teaching Credential
  • PK-3 ECE Instruction Specialist Credential​​

Quality Counts CA (QCC) Workforce Pathways Stipend Program

Financial assistance available for early learning professionals who work directly with children ages birth to 5 years in licensed early learning and care programs in Orange County. To be eligibile for the Orange County Workforce Pathways Stipend Program you must be a teacher, assistant or family child care provider enrolled in an accredited college or university. 

Eligibility includes those who are working to complete:
  • CA Child Development Permit (Assistant, Assoc Teacher, Teacher, Master Teacher or Site Supervisor level)
  • AA/AS degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development
  • BA/BA degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development
  • Infant/Toddler coursework at a community college
  • Before and after school staff earning Early Childhood Education units for CA Child Development Permit
  • Professional development participation (21 hours) who hold a BA/BS or higher degree and teacher permit (limited space)​

The 2025-26  Workforce Pathways Stipend Program will soon open for applications. ​
