The Family & Community Partnership (FCP) Network meets quarterly to address the question: "What does it look like to engage parents and families in meaningful ways to support student success?"
Our mission is to support Orange County students and their families by creating a forum for schools, districts, and community representatives to come together and share best practices in family and community engagement.
These practices are aligned with the following principles from the California Department of Education Family Engagement Framework:
Build Capacity
Demonstrate Leadership
Allocate Resources
Monitor Progress
Promote Access and Equity
We also explore the role of family and community engagement as one of the domains of MTSS and an LCAP state priority.
OCDE is a proud member of the
National Network of Partnership Schools (NNPS). Established at Johns Hopkins University in 1996, the NNPS invites schools, districts, states, and organizations to join together and use research-based approaches to organize and sustain excellent programs of family and community involvement that will increase student success in school.
“Based on more than three decades of research on parental involvement, family engagement, and community partnerships, NNPS’s tools, guidelines, and action team approach may be used by all elementary, middle, and high schools to increase involvement and improve student learning and development,” explains Dr. Joyce L. Epstein, Founder, and Director of NNPS.
