The Quality Rating and Improvement System (QRIS) Pilot
project is funded by California's Race to the Top Early Learning
Challenge Grant. Through 2015, approximately 260 preschool, childcare,
and family child care home sites in Orange County will join hundreds of
sites across California in piloting a Quality Rating and Improvement System. Pilot participants will
receive annual ERS and CLASS assessments, followed by quality
improvement support services including coaching and training. Quality Ratings for participating pilot sites will be published in 2015, as part of an effort to
assist Orange County families in selecting high quality early care and
education for their children.
The QRIS Pilot Rating Matrix and professional development pathways are based on California's Early Learning and Development System of research-based tools, assessments, and curriculum standards. Follow the links below for more information about these key continuous quality improvement tools:
