The National Model for the School Counseling profession calls for school counselors to be leaders, advocates, collaborators, and systemic change agents.  School counselors are tremendous assets on school leadership teams as they have relationships with all stakeholders and are accustomed to using data to identify strengths and areas of thoughtfulness with regard to academic attainment, post-secondary readiness, career development, and positive school climate.

The video on this page showcases best practices demonstrating school counselors as leaders within the school and district at all levels.
