It gives teachers the deep knowledge and tools they need to understand how students learn to read—and what to do when they struggle. Through the Orange County Department of Education (OCDE), districts now have the opportunity to join regional LETRS® cohorts starting August 2026.

This session supports educators in understanding and responding to reading screener data through a multilingual learner lens. Participants will explore culturally and linguistically responsive screening practices, distinguish language development from reading difficulty, and use data to design needs-responsive literacy instruction and intervention.
