Supporting Statewide Literacy: Systems and Tools for Struggling Readers and Children with Dyslexia

April 27, 2022

The Orange County Department of Education, in partnership with the Center for the Collaborative Classroom and the Consortium on Reading Excellence in Education, offered this virtual symposium to support statewide literacy initiatives. These offerings were designed to meet the needs of K-12 educators who create, implement, influence, or improve reading instruction at their school or district.

Participants had the opportunity to learn from researchers, experts, and classroom teachers from across the state about how they are using research-based systems, tools, and strategies to support tiered literacy instruction. Multiple sessions throughout the day provided insight into dyslexia characteristics and reading intervention, systematic literacy skill development, as well as schoolwide and district-wide implementation planning. Session Recordings and resources can be accessed in the Digital Notebook created for the symposium.
