Youth Reporting Center (YRC) North and Central locations
Orange
County Department of Education works closely with Orange County Probation to
provide quality education to youth who are currently on probationary status.
Our Youth Reporting Centers are operated by Probation
staff and Orange County Department of Education ACCESS teachers and employees.
The goal of the YRC staff is to prepare students in successfully completing
their probation time in order to achieve future goals.
Students
enrolled at both YRC locations work with two or three teachers who
focus on the core subjects: Math, Science, History,
and English. Elective credits can be earned through
art classes and music programs.
Paraeducators
assist in the classroom, and help administer state testing
with students. Tutoring is also available for students who need extra academic
support. Students who are ready for employment or college will meet with
the transition specialist on-site to create resumes and complete applications.
The Transition Specialist also works with each
student who successfully completes their time at YRC to help in their
transition to their next school, job or college.
There is a
dedicated breakfast and lunch time, where students are given food
provided by OCDE nutrition services.
