In doing so, teachers utilize principles from the website Universal Design for Learning​ and resources and support from the California Multi-Tiered System of Support Framework​ website when lesson and unit planning.
• Literacy practices called out in the Common Core State Standards​ and the ELA/ELD framework​ websites.
• Inquiry practices and disciplinary thinking skills called out in the College, Career, and Civic Life (C3) Framework for Social Studies State Standards​ and the History-Social Science Framework for Public Schools​websites. The Framework encompasses the History-Social Science Content Standards​ website includes Historical and Social Sciences Analysis Skills.
• Implications for Civic Learning and Practicing Civic Engagement: Service-Learning in the History-Social Science Framework​ website.
