CDE provides information and resources for charter authorizers, such as the Public Charter School Grant Program (PCSGP), charter school use of district facilities, and legislation impacting charter schools, listed below. 

Charter School Grant Program - The Public Charter School Grant Program (PCSGP) Start-Up Sub-Grant provides funding for the planning and initial implementation of newly established or conversion charter schools, as well as the replication and expansion of high-quality charter schools.

Charter School Use of School Facilities - Information to assist school districts and their communities in creating well-planned learning environments in safe, clean, and up-to-date schools.

Legislation Impacting Charter Schools - Centralized location for matters related to the implications and implementation of recent legislation impacting California charter schools, charter authorizers, and stakeholders. 

California Charter Authorizing Professionals (CCAP)

CCAP is comprised of educational leaders with a vision to provide authentic support and resources to those who do the critical work of professional charter school authorization in California.

Charter Authorizer Support ​Initiative (CASI)​

​California Department of Education initiative to expand professional development and networking opportunities for authorizers through statewide and regional activities, with a special emphasis on supporting small and rural authorizers. 

Fiscal Crisis and Management Assistance Team (FCMAT)

FCMAT was established in 1992 by the Legislature as an independent state-funded entity. FCMAT helps California's local educational agencies (LEAs) fulfill their financial and managerial responsibility by providing fiscal advice, management assistance, training, resources and other related school business services. National Association of Charter School Authorizers (NACSA)

NACSA is an independent voice for effective charter policy, education reform, and strategic charter authorizing practices that lead to great public schools and improved public education across the country.
