A charter school petition that has been denied by the governing board of a local school district may be submitted to the Orange County Board of Education (OCBE) for consideration.
The Orange County Department of Education's Charter Schools Unit is responsible for facilitating the charter school petition submission process by:
Organizing a multi-disciplinary team to review the petition
Making a recommendation to OCBE to approve or deny the petition
Answering questions petitioners may have regarding the process
