Assembly Bill 1505 prohibits establishing new nonclassroom-based charter schools between January 1, 2020, and January 1, 2026.
Charter school petitioners may submit an appeal to the Orange County Board of Education following a denial by a local school district.
Orange County Department of Education Charter Schools Unit staff facilitate the charter school petition submission process, conduct petition review, and provide recommendations, including recommended findings, to the Orange County Board of Education.
